Babies everywhere tend to be born with lighter coloring than they will have as adults.

Many Caucasian babies are born with blond hair that turns brown by the time they are grown up. It’s even more common for Caucasian babies to be born with blue or gray eyes that later turn brown.

The reason is that “babies are not born with all the melanin that they are [genetically] destined to have.”
