First of all it totally depends on your interest and background, and your goals in life. In terms of trend or excellent job opportunities, the following courses are the best:

1. Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum & Mining, Industrial)
2. Food Science & Agriculture
3. Computer Science
4. Business and Finance
5. Media & Communications
All of the above fields are really in great demand in Nigeria

This is to all those Nigerian students who are in search of the BEST course to study in the university. Instead of going for the best course, it would be better for you to explore your self and find out what actually interests you, or the areas you are good at. If you study in your area of interest, you are bound to get success as you would be working in future on the things that you like and are interested in. Also the definition of BEST vary for one another so it would be best to know what’s best… Read more »

I decided on my degree based on what the future demands. If you feel like you cannot decide, take a practical approach to it. Think about what industry you see thriving in Nigeria and then bank on it

Every course is a top course and every course is a pre-requisite to human life in every endeavor,
Go for what makes you happy not what fetches you money. You will get tired soon

Animal husbandry/Wifery, Animal science, Computer science, Entrepreneurial studies, Food and nutrition, Home Economics, Architecture, Music if you are a lady pls learn basic hand crafts. I am about enrolling in a sewing class cos I Know how soon I will be leaving this country. I have also noticed that so many of our naija abroadians have no access to good tailors…I see most of them wearing unfitting and badly sewn dresses…which brings me to my conclusion there are bad tailors in the abroad that don’t know how to sew our naija natives especially for women. Guys can also venture into… Read more »

This is my list and I’m rating these courses base on job opportunity, job security and good pay. 1. Study to become a tech guru, our university don’t have a enough to offer in dis field. So get proper training elsewhere. 2. Graphic designer, digital marketing, freelancing, u can sit at home, negotiate ur jobs and make good money without having to carry CVs around 3. Med/surgery. My doctors friend are balling like they own Nigeria. Job isn’t isn’t really a problem after school. 4. Pharmacy, this course is one the best in Nigeria in terms of job opportunity and… Read more »

Computer science is a waste of time. You don’t have to be a computer science graduate to practice in that field. You simply need the knowledge and if really want to be grounded in the field, you are definitely not learning that within the four walls of the classroom. The rest is mathematics.

Accounting, medicine ,pharmacy, you can’t study computer related courses in Nigeria because the lecturers don’t know anything about it they are analog
If you study accounting and master it, it’s better than any course in this world
99% of accounting graduate in Nigeria don’t know it

Computer science is a good course but not in Nigeria. You will learn nothing. Imagine computer science student them go they teach you elementary math, physics, assembly language. Oracle Java
Out dates scheme of work.
You no go even learn how to code.
Nobody go take you serious after you graduate.

The problem is that people don’t understand where and how far a degree in Computer science can take you.. These guys are literally taking over all fields from medicine to Engineering, law and management… People don’t ask questions, they just earn these degrees and sit at home or settle for less…. I studied an engineering course, topped my class and sometimes struggle to get grants and sponsorships even till now because most of them needs researchers with plenty experience.. If I knew what I know now back then, I won’t waste 5 years studying Engineering…NEVER… But I also know God’s… Read more »
